Spectator Code of Conduct
The Cleveland Sharks Youth Hockey Association is committed to providing a safe, positive, and respectful environment for all players, coaches, officials, and fans. All spectators are expected to uphold the following standards at all times.
1. Respect the Game
- Support all players, regardless of team.
- Recognize that youth hockey is about development, effort, and enjoyment.
2. Respect Officials
- Officials are human and will make mistakes.
- Do not argue, yell at, or harass referees.
- No questioning of calls from the stands.
3. Respect Coaches & Players
- Do not direct comments toward players, coaches, or team staff.
- No coaching from the stands.
- Allow players to play and coaches to coach.
4. Positive Environment Only
- Cheer positively—never negatively.
- No taunting, bullying, or unsportsmanlike behavior.
- No use of profanity, abusive language, or inappropriate gestures.
5. Zero Tolerance Behavior
The following actions are strictly prohibited:
- Verbal or physical abuse
- Threats or intimidation
- Disruptive or aggressive conduct
- Confrontations with officials, players, coaches, or other spectators
6. Follow Facility & League Rules
- Adhere to all rink policies and league guidelines.
- Respect staff and event personnel at all times.
7. Represent the Sharks with Pride
- Spectators are a reflection of the Cleveland Sharks organization.
- Conduct yourself in a way that promotes respect, sportsmanship, and integrity.
Violators may be asked to leave the facility, suspended from future events and/or reported to the league or governing bodies.
Reminder
This is youth hockey. The experience should be positive, supportive, and fun for all participants.
