Parent Code of Conduct
The Cleveland Sharks are committed to providing a positive, safe, and development-focused environment for all players. Parents and guardians are expected to model and uphold these standards at all times.
1. Player-First Mindset
- Support all players, not just your own.
- Prioritize development, effort, and enjoyment over winning.
2. Respect for Coaches & Officials
- Treat coaches, referees, and volunteers with respect.
- Do not coach from the stands.
- Allow coaches to coach and players to play.
3. Behavior at Games & Practices
- Display good sportsmanship at all times.
- No yelling at officials, players, or coaches.
- No abusive, threatening, or inappropriate language.
- Represent the Cleveland Sharks with professionalism.
4. 24-Hour Rule
- Wait 24 hours before addressing concerns related to games or ice time.
- Address concerns privately and respectfully with coaches first.
5. Locker Room Expectations
- Promote a safe, respectful, and positive locker room environment.
- Follow all team and facility locker room policies.
6. Player Accountability
- Ensure your player is on time, prepared, and respectful.
- Support team rules, coaching decisions, and organizational expectations.
7. Social Media Conduct
- Do not post negative or critical comments about players, coaches, officials, or the organization.
- Represent the Sharks positively at all times.
8. Zero Tolerance Policy
The following will not be tolerated:
- Verbal or physical abuse
- Harassment or intimidation
- Disruptive or aggressive behavior
Violations may result in removal from events, suspension, or dismissal from the organization.
