Sharks Pre/Post Hockey
**We are excited to announce that the Cleveland Sharks will be shifting to a full year, split-season national bound Pre/Post Program beginning in the Fall of 2026. Tryouts for these teams will be held in early April 2026 with practices and games beginning this Fall. Please check back soon for tryout dates and other important details.**
Our Sharks’ Pre/Post Program is for players in the 2007-2011 age range, and takes place before and after their high school season. This Spring we will be fielding one 18U Major Team and one 16U Major Team to play in local tournaments with other games, practices and skills sessions built in.
Ages
18U is open to players born between January 1, 2007 through December 31, 2011.
16U is open to players born between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2011.
Please note, if your player is a 2007 or 2008 birth year and they will be required to take the Safe Sport Core Training or Refresher Course prior to participation in the 2026 Spring season. This course is valid for one full season so those who completed the training in the Fall 2025 are already complete.
When
Two evaluation skates will be held for each age group (16U/18U). Tryout dates & times are listed below:
16U Evaluation Skates
Tuesday, March 17th, 7:30 PM
Wednesday, March 18th, 7:30 PM
18U Evaluation Skates
Wednesday, March 18th, 8:45 PM
Thursday, March 19th, 7:30 PM
All evaluation skates and practices will one hour long and held on the Brooklyn Recreation Center ice located at 7600 Memphis Ave, Brooklyn, OH.
Where
Tournaments will be in-state with games played at the Brooklyn Rec Center and other local rinks.
Practices
Practices will be announced once rosters are set and will take place at the John M. Coyne Rec Center.
Games
Each team will participate in a minimum of 8 games plus 4 practices. All tournaments will be played in-state with games played at the John M. Coyne Rec Center and other local rinks.
Jerseys
Jerseys will be provided.

Coaches Mike Bell (16U), Tim Schuette (18U), and Craig Massello(16U/18U) will continue to lead our Pre/Post Program this Spring. Updated bios will be published shortly.
Spring 2026 Pre/Post
The Cleveland Sharks are proud to announce the 2026 Spring Evaluation Skate for our High School Pre/Post 16U and 18U teams.
Cost for the 16U and 18U Evaluation Skate is $50.00.
All Evaluations must be paid in advance and online at the time of registration. NO CASH OR CHECKS will be accepted.
Please note, if your player is a 2008 birth year or earlier, he/she will be required to take the Safe Sport Core Training or Refresher Course prior to participation for the season.
This course is only valid for one season and a refresher is required every season thereafter.

If the player is placed on a team following the evaluation, the cost is $400 for 18U and 16U skaters and $250 for goalies.
Each Team will practice one time the week of tournaments and with Ohio Hockey Project.
